Pefferlaw Soil Product – we recommend  Pefferlaw brand 3-Way Mix

1. Select a site:

Select a site best suited to the type of flowers or vegetables that you will be planting.  There is a vast selection of flowers which prefer either sun, shade or partial sun. Ultimately the sunlight conditions of the site will dictate which flowers you will choose to plant or the flowers you choose to plant will dictate the location of the site Vegetables generally require at least 8 hrs of sun per day.

2. Preparation:

Outline the area with a hose or rope, use a spade to dig a trench along the outline.  Remove any sod or old plant life within the area. Include removing the roots, shake out any excess soil back into the garden area.

Loosen the soil with a shovel, rake or spade.  If the area is large, use a rototiller to loosen and mix in soil (step 3).

3. Add Pefferlaw brand 3-Way Mix and Plant:

Empty the bag contents onto the garden and using a rake/rototiller, mix thoroughly with the existing soil. Rake the area level.

Dig in plants or seed as directed on the package. Water gently and thoroughly so as not to wash away seeds or fresh soil.

Maintaining existing Flower and Vegetable Garden Soil

Each spring and fall it is a good idea to top dress your garden to refresh nutrients, add Pefferlaw brand Manure, 3- Way Mix, or Compost for the nutrient benefits and Black Earth or Top Soil to improve soil conditions. Add directly from the bag and mix it into the existing soil.
